Getting Ready For Camp

The 2007 Royal Family Kids’ Camp (RFKC) is fast approaching and the RFKC staff and counselors have met over the last few weeks to prepare for it.

The counselors met to learn more about their campers and the support staff met to learn their roles and to understand how they can support the camp. This week will be spent packing and doing those last minute things that always seem to pop up just before departure. The RFKC team appreciates the support our sponsors and partners have given in preparing for this camp and would appreciate your continuing to remember us as we seek to provide postive experiences for our campers.

Please be sure to check back with us as we use this blog to provide daily updates of the camp activities.

Dear Boise RFKC,
I just wanted to take a quick moment to tell you that you're being thought of and prayed for even some 1,881 miles away. (That's from the Heart of Boise to the Heart of Central Texas, here in Austin.) As we wake this morning, sipping our coffee from our RFKC mugs, know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. And know how we long for unlimited time and resources to be there physically along side and help you all with the work we so love to do.
In all the last minute busy-ness, please take some time to reflect and pray too, and thank God for this opportunity to serve. And know that no matter how great or small your role at camp is this coming week, realize you're there to be used by God and make a difference... and you will. We pray that God will protect you and bless you - and He will, simply because you were willing to serve and simply because you ask Him. But you MUST remember to ask Him, because there is one that would rather not have you there changing lives and touching hearts. Thank you for being there to answer the call to minister in this way as so few do. We challenge you to pray this prayer every morning up until, and throughout the week at camp: "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory. That Your hand would be with me and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain."
Loving, praying for, and missing our Royal Family,
Marc & Heidi
