Day One - We've Arrived or Fish On

It’s long been a camp tradition to greet our campers with signs bearing their names and cheers, as they exit the bus.

This year the tradition continued with buddies and staff waving their brightly colored posters and cheerily welcoming the campers as they meet up with their buddies.

Once the luggage was unpacked, and lunch was over, campers headed to the fishing pond to try their luck.  It was a good day for our fishing campers, with each of them reeling in enough fish to fill a cooler.

Swimming at the waterfront is always something the campers enjoy.

Campers have the options of paddling kayaks and paddle boards.

If campers want to stay closer to shore they can build sand castles on the beach.

Two ducks, showed up at the waterfront today.

A camper tried to ride the duck, doing his best to
balance on the duck's back.

But the duck bobbed and weaved, until it  threw the camper
off.

You may have won today duck, but there's
 always tomorrow

The zipline was open today and the campers took advantage
of being able to ride the line. Many of the campers spent most
of their time during activities time flying through the air.

Today the campers had the option of decorating
ceramic tiles which will be fired in town and available
to be taken home. This tile has a special message for
this camper's buddy " I Love Ava."

Tonight, the campers received
their quilts which were provided
by Project Linus. Project Linus
has been making quilts for our
campers for decades. Our
heartfelt thanks go out
to the members of the
Project Linus for the kind
generosity. You can learn more

The stage is set for this year's drama, Baa-riliant Adventures, which is scheduled to  start tomorrow.  The drama team has been practicing and getting their costumes ready for act one.

Be sure to check back each day to read about the antics of the
sheep who undertake these adventures.
